Basic Info
Name:Connall Llewellyn Gilchrist
Birthdate:1965-05-01
Location:Atlantis
Bio
Character Name: Connall Llewellyn Gilchrist

Gender: M

Age: 39

Physical Description: 5'7", 160 lb, short light brown hair, brown eyes, walks with a bit of a limp when tired.

Personality: Friendly, interested in people, rarely still, will happily pitch in and help with anything. He acts rather blase about his height, but it bothers him more than he lets on. Has definite ADHD tendencies which he self-treats with coffee, strong and black, or some other caffeinated beverage if coffee is unavailable. Speaks with a Texas drawl.

History/Bio: Conn was born and raised in Austin, Texas. His father died when he was young and his mother raised him alone on the salary she made cleaning houses or working as a receptionist. He was a bit of a hellion as a child, despite his mother's attempts to put the fear of God in him. As soon as he was able, he enlisted in the Marines.

It was at the end of his service that he finally saw the light. He was horsing around in the back of a transport when he got shoved off the back of the truck just as the company CO started backing up. He got run over, severely injuring one leg.

During the months of physical therapy, he picked up the Bible his mother had sent him ("You might find it easier to read, as it's in more modern English. Your Aunt Letty sent it to me and I don't like the sound of it.") and began to read.

Using the funds he got from the GI Bill, he went to seminary and began the long, slow process of getting himself back into shape while delving into theology, philosophy, and cultural studies.

He worked for a while as a youth minister, which he dearly loved, but his heart was still with the Marines. So, he applied to the US Navy Chaplains Corps and got in. He served for a number of years in various theaters, generally with Marine units, until his leg injury got the better of him and he had to retire.

One of the Marines he had quite a bit of contact with over the years was one Marshall Sumner. Conn was surprised to receive an invitation to act as chaplain to some top-secret joint civilian and military operation, but too intrigued to pass it up.

While Conn is a man of sure faith, he takes the words of St. Francis of Assisi to heart-- "Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words."

Languages: English, some Spanish, can read Greek, Hebrew, Latin, and German, but cannot speak any of them well (imagine Hebrew or Greek with a Texas drawl-- I dare you).

Position on Atlantis or Affiliation: Chaplain
